If you thought Friday the 13th was bad, just wait until Saturday the 14th. That’s just what the 29 men and 10 women who showed up to battle it out that the oche did. The region sent 4 men and 1 woman on to the National Event to be held in Stamford, CT.

The ladies bracket consisted of: Gloria Gutierrez, Marcia Loche, Lisa Harris, Kim LeDuc, Audria Garcia, Emma Migrino, Irina Ventuleth, Jackie Clarke, Nicole Kuzmuk and Suzana Kovach. Newbie Lisa Harris had a rough day as did ADO Master’s Regional winner Emma Migrino. After nine grueling rounds, Marcia Loche emerged on top with Jackie Clarke in second, Gloria Gutierrez in third and Audria Garcia and Suzana Kovach tied for fourth.

On the men’s side we had four brackets, three of seven and one of eight. The top two in each bracket would advance to shoot a finals bracket of eight.

The Hearts bracket contained: Kevin Regan, Todd Bumgarner, Mike Emery, Mike Marano, Scott Henning, Rich Seiferheld and Gary Garcia. Gary Garcia and Todd Bumgarner finished first and second and advanced. Kevin Regan and Scott Henning finished third and fourth in the bracket.

The Clubs bracket featured: Buddy Lessig, Adrian Yorker, Billy Connor, Joe Roca, Bob Race, Rich Hammond and Charlie Cafferata. Buddy Lessig finished in first and Adrian Yorker defeated Rich Hammond in a tie-breaker to advance to the finals. Joe Roca finished in fourth.

Playing in the Diamonds bracket were: Dave Kiesche, Joe Hogan, Keith Connor, Lou Mondi, Pete Perlongo, Dave Hascup and Kevin McErlaine. Keith Connor and Dave Hascup tied for first and advanced with Lou Mondi and Pete Perlongo coming in third and fourth.

The Spades bracket had eight shooters: Bill Bell, Joe Swick, Rob Burrous Jr., Tom Waterman, Ed Charbolowski, Rob West, Tim O’Gorman and Hubert Tyndall. Once again, we had a tie for first with Joe Swick and Tim O’Gorman advancing to the finals. Bill Bell and Tom Waterman finished third and fourth.

With the finals bracket set with: Keith Connor, Joe Swick, Gary Garcia, Tim O’Gorman, Todd Bumgarner, Adrian Yorker, Buddy Lessig and Dave Hascup, play commenced to see which four would represent the region in Stamford. Buddy Lessig dropped just four legs in the finals bracket to finish in first. Tim O’Gorman won two-thirds of his legs to wrap up second. Joe Swick and Adrian Yorker just maintained a winning record in the finals to tie for third and become the last two qualifiers to advance to the National Event.
