Was thinking Monday or Tuesday night during the summer. Have it all in 1 location if possible. We would need a bar that has 6+ boards if possible or we do a 6:30 start and an 8:30 start schedule if need be. Best place would be somewhere right over the bridge in Staten Island or right over the bridge in NJ.

$200 fee from the bar would be a good amount I think
$20 per person to join
$5 per week per person
Top 4 make playoff round

We payout all who make playoffs and top average for the year.

Example with 12 players
$20 entry fee X 12 = $240
$5/week X 12 = $60 X 11 weeks = $660
Bar fee = $200
Total collected = $1100
Top average gets $100
1st place = $500
2nd place = $250
Top 4 = $125 each

Or $10 per week…….raise the amount collected up to $1760
Top average gets $100
2nd average gets $50
1st place = $810
2nd place = $400
Top 4 = $200

We run it exactly like the PDC Premier League.
All 501 format - You play 1 person each night
The match is a best of 14. Yes, you can tie at 7-7. If someone hits 8 wins, the match is over.

Standings are total wins and losses with tie breaker being your +/-.
Example: 2/5/2009 was the first night of the 2009 PDC Premier League.
Here were the results:
James Wade 7-7 John Part
Jelle Klaasen 7-7 Terry Jenkins
Mervyn King 8-1 Wayne Mardle
Raymond van Barneveld 4-8 Phil Taylor

With this, the standings after week one are as follows:
Pos Player W-L-T +/-
1st Mervyn 1-0-0 +7
2nd Phil Taylor 1-0-0 +4
3rd James Wade 0-0-1 E
3rd John Part 0-0-1 E
3rd Jelle Klaasen 0-0-1 E
3rd Terry Jenkins 0-0-1 E
7th Ray Barneveld 0-1-0 -4
8th Wayne Mardle 0-1-0 -7

They play each other twice for 14 weeks. We can obviously do whatever.

We really need to get something like this going. We should be able to get enough people to make this happen. I think the bigger difficulty will be finding a bar at a central location. Exclamation

Dave-

I think a regional league is a great idea, particularly in the summer.

Have you thought of putting a schedule together, and having the players determine where to shoot. i.e. something like this might attract people that aren't currently USADarts players, I being one of them. If I was shooting you, Tom, John or someone else in Central NJ, going to SI wouldn't be my first choice if I can shoot over to you and play there. Same thing, two people in SI would play there rather than coming to NJ (based on suggested location of either side of the bridge so far.) It may also help with summer vacations, and people can make up their matches in an easier fashion?

It seems like you're using a count of 12 people in the calculations. In that case, you don't need 6 boards for a double stint night, just 3 for that or 6 for one round per night. Do you think you'll have more people or are you really just toying with the idea?

Also - how about divisions by location? The top in each area/league would make the playoffs and a few wildcards to round out the top 8? The playoffs could all be in one location over two weeks?

Gary,
A regional idea is a good idea, but then you lose the money from the bar. Not sure how to handle that part.

To all,
We are currently looking at the
Schnitzel Haus
7319 5th Ave
Bklyn, NY 11209

Please start responding to this so we know how many people we will have for this. I want to see how many people we will have for this.

Also, give me your choices on format:
All 501
Mix Cricket and 501 (this will take longer)

Best of games as listed above
Best of 3 games best of 5 or 7 sets
Best of 5 games best of 5 sets

Other ideas?

Looking to start this in May on Mondays or Tuesdays.

Correct Dave, you wouldn't.

I don't think you'd get anyone from Trenton to make the trek to Brooklyn and I think I'm the only one from the GTDL who reads this forum.

I'll spread the word however and see what comes back.

Looks like the league will be played on Mondays but will not start until June sometime. We have a few people who currently shoot in a monday league.

Pertaining to the singles league......we may have another place to shoot at. I originally mentioned Brooklyn. However, I have been told about a place in Staten Island that may be able to accomodate our needs.

If you are interested in playing, post your name on this forum.

Please forward this to anyone who might be interested. I am looking to have at least 12 players.

Regards,
David

Any suggestions on format? You like all 501 or a mix of 501 and cricket?
